10 Implications For The Success And Failure Of Batman V Superman
8. Zack Snyder Gets To Keep His Job
Despite the harsh reviews and a fan petition, Zack Snyder will keep his job as director of the Justice League films.
Ever since directing Man Of Steel, Snyder has been a key part in the building of this universe and Warner Bros. certainly seems to have a lot of faith in him. And although his presence as director of the superhero team-up may cause panic for some, he might be the best man for the job.
Snyder certainly takes credit for some of the film's issues (just give us a little colour, Zack), he cannot take all the blame. The film reeks of studio meddling, turning half the movie into a trailer for future movies. Hopefully, given how well that went, the studio will back off a bit and allow Snyder some breathing room this time around.
Regardless of what you thought of Man Of Steel or Batman V Superman, Snyder has a clear vision for these characters. It's such a distinct vision, in fact, that to have someone else come in and try to take it over would likely be more damaging than good.
So Snyder will get another shot at the making a superhero epic. Let's hope for his sake (and ours) that the third time is the charm.
