10 Indications The Golden Globes Have Given Us For The Oscars

1. Best Picture Is A Race Between American Hustle And 12 Years A Slave

12 Years A Slave didn€™t walk away completely empty handed at the Globes. It took home the grand prize of Best Drama Picture, after all. The story of the night, however, was American Hustle, which took home multiple awards including the Best Comedy/Musical Picture award. I€™m not sure if I agree that American Hustle qualifies as a comedy €“ it certainly has its hilarious bits, but full blown comedy is pushing it €“ but I€™m obviously not on the panel. Regardless, it€™s hard to say for certain which of these movies is now the front-runner, considering that the panel€™s decisions don€™t always align for Best Picture - mostly because of that stupid Comedy/Musical separation for the Golden Globes €“ but last year Argo took home both awards. The Golden Globes are also the same group that awarded Avatar Best Picture, so there are some quirks. So it€™s "important American slavery history" vs. "ridiculous con-artist shenanigans." Only one can take home the ultimate prize. I would love to hear your thoughts and predictions, too, so please weigh in below in the comments section!
