10 Infuriating Movie Sub-Plots That Are Still Unresolved
9. The Amazing Spider-Man - What Happened to Uncle Ben's Killer?
The Amazing Spiderman gave us a chance to revisit the origins of our favourite web-sling hero and with that we got to witness the tragic death of Uncle Ben all over again. This time we had Martin Sheen up for the role of wise mentor to Peter Parker, and he was magnificent. His loss was keenly felt not just in that film, but the sequel too. In Sam Raimi's version of Spider-Man, the story of Ben Parker's killer had a natural conclusion. A vengeful Peter Parker pursued the killer to an abandoned warehouse and witnessed the villain plunged to his death trying to escape him, and the less said about the retroactive changing of Flint Marko as the killer in Spiderman 3, the better. In Marc Webb's version, Peter Parker takes up the same path of vengeance, just as he did in the comics. Only this time, audiences didn't get the conclusion they were looking for. Half way through The Amazing Spiderman, Peter forgets about his quest and we never hear of his hunt for Uncle Ben's killer again. While some storylines (such as the death of his parents) were followed through in the sequel, this sub plot just fell by the wayside.
