10 Insane Rumours For Upcoming Movies

6. It's A Secret Sequel To Inception - Tenet

The marketing for Christopher Nolan's upcoming sci-fi thriller Tenet has played its cards characteristically close to its chest so far, unspooling few concrete plot or character details, focused instead on establishing the film's style and tone.

But there's a persistent rumour that Tenet may in fact be a secret sequel to Nolan's masterful 2010 hit Inception, or in the very least a spiritual successor taking place within the same universe.

Given that Tenet similarly deals with heady sci-fi concepts - albeit time travel rather than the invasion of dreams - and boasts a not dissimilar "grounded" aesthetic, it's easy to see how the two stories could co-exist in the same world.

It might ultimately all hinge on Michael Caine, the single actor starring in both movies and who could very well be secretly reprising his Professor Miles role from Inception.

Though it's easy to imagine a director as singular as Nolan scoffing at the notion of a cinematic universe, it's also not entirely outside the realm of possibility.
