6. How Powerful Is Thanos?

We've now seen Thanos in all his glory. After a brief initial appearance in the Avengers movie mid-credits scene, the Mad Titan appeared in full in Guardians of the Galaxy. We heard him speak via a holographic transmission and then we saw him, in person, sat in his regal hovering space seat, as his full form turned to face us before dishing out orders to the likes of Ronan, Gamora and Nebula. However, we're yet to see anything of what he's capable of offensively. He's obviously very powerful - he commanded the Chitauri army and counts formidable beings such as Loki, the Other and Ronan amongst his inferiors - but we don't know exactly to what extent. If he's as high-level and versatile as his comic book self, he's going to tear the Avengers apart - even without the Infinity Gauntlet. So it will be very interesting to see exactly what level he's on and how esoteric his powers are - and we'll probably find that out in phase three.
