The Offending Comics: Venom: Carnage Unleashed (1995)

Not exactly the nicest guy Marvel ever conjured up, Carnage – aka serial killer Cletus Kasady who became his evil alter ego after merging with Venom’s symbiote offspring after sharing a prison cell with Eddie Brock – can usually be found going on gruesome killing sprees and other such nasty sh*t.

But Venom: Carnage Unleashed really revealed the depths of his depravity. Turns out he was psychopathic even as a kid and took his first victim – his own grandmother – at the tender age of six when he pushed her down a flight of stairs. Offing your granny we can kind of understand, but it was also revealed that Carnage brutally killed his mother’s dog as a young kid too and with a power drill, no less.

It’s been confirmed that Carnage will be making an appearance in the first film in Sony’s Marvel Universe, Venom, which is set for a 2018 release date. Fingers crossed they don’t delve too deeply into his dog-murdering backstory.
