3. Red Hulk - The Incredible Hulk
2008's The Incredible Hulk was far from an incredible (sorry) film, but it delivered the basic goods and was essentially an apology for the wildly divisive 2003 Ang Lee Hulk film. However, it's hard not to feel like they really missed a trick with their villain; General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross is an antagonist role in both Lee's Hulk and the 2008 version, but in the latter take, the main villain is in fact Tim Roth's Abomination. While the super-brawl between these two beasts is fun to watch, why throw in another guy as a villain when you have a perfectly good baddie in Ross himself? I am, of course, referring to the Red Hulk (affectionately referred to as "Rulk"), who debuted in 2008 (the very year the film was released, so most likely slightly too late for production) as a new enemy for the Hulk, who would later reveal himself to be Ross. It would have made for a totally different type of Hulk film, and given that Ross had so much more personality than Abomination anyway, it would have made sense to just make him the fully-fledged villain.
