10 More Best Times Star Wars Appeared In Other Movies

8. That's A Lightsaber - The Adam Project

As the last version of this list already highlighted, Shawn Levy is quite the fan of this galaxy far, far away.

The Free Guy director - who is currently attached to direct a Star Wars movie - wasn't done cramming references to that franchise into his movies, though.

A year on from that aforementioned movie's awesome lightsaber moment, The Adam Project - another Ryan Reynolds-starring action comedy - threw in yet another piece of laser sword madness.

Sort of.

As the younger Adam (Walker Scobell) looks through older Adam's stuff - the latter had travelled through time to try and save his wife - he stumbles on a weapon that looks an awful lot like the one used by Jedi and Sith.

Then, after being told it definitely wasn't a lightsaber, young Adam sees his older self use this whirring laser staff to take down some enemies and quickly notes "that's a lightsaber, dude."

Whether this Mag-Cyl is being used to wipe out bad guys with a burst of energy or erase them from existence with a slash, there's never a dull moment when this weapon clearly inspired by a lightsaber is about. Though Levy has gone on record (via Syfy) to state that this is still definitely not an actual lightsaber, likely out of fear of being sued.

But that's now two separate movies when Reynolds has wielded a laser sword, with neither of them happening in the actual Star Wars universe.

Get his man some robes, dammit!
