10 More Horror Movie Performances That Proved EVERYONE Wrong

8. Rachel Sennott - Bodies Bodies Bodies

The Serpent and the Rainbow
A24

Fans of 2020 coming-of-age comedy Shiva Baby will know Rachel Sennott as the lead character Danielle, a young bisexual woman who has to deal with her eclectic family whilst attending a Jewish funeral. Recent cinemagoers will also recognise her from Bottoms, a high school comedy that she also wrote. However, if none of these sound like your cup of tea, then you need to give 2022’s Bodies Bodies Bodies a go.

Set in a remote house during a hurricane, Bodies Bodies Bodies follows a group of mostly unlikeable people as they descend into chaos after one of them turns up dead. Everybody suspects everybody else of the murder, which in turn leads to even more bloodshed.

Sennott plays Alice, a podcaster who plays a key role in shifting the blame around from person to person. This is still a comedic role, as she definitely plays up Alice’s arrogance to a laughable degree, but there’s more here than just laughs as Alice’s self-preservation instincts kick in.

Even if you don’t like Sennott’s work, Bodies Bodies Bodies is still worth watching, especially for the twist.
