2. The Sheriff's Shoes - Scream
It's challenging to find a single person who correctly guessed the killer in Scream. However, there was one moment where certain fans thought they cracked it.
While Sheriff Burke speaks to Dewey, he drops a cigarette and stamps it out with his boot. The camera lingers for a few seconds, giving the audience a good shot of the sheriff's footwear. Attentive viewers will notice Burke's shoes are remarkably similar to the ones worn by Ghostface when he attacked Sidney at school.
Although the shoes are a massive clue to Ghostface's identity, it's not in this scene. When Billy Loomis drops his phone, there's a brief shot of his Doc Martens, which are the same steel-toed shoes worn by the killer. However, most viewers didn't spot this pivotal detail on their first watch, since they were focusing on Billy's phone.
But that's not at all. When the main cast are introduced, everyone can be seen wearing bright sneakers, except for the dual killers, Billy and Stu, who are sporting Doc Martens.
Like the best twists, this giveaway is only obvious the second time around.
