10 More Horror Movie Sequels That Were Just Too Cruel

Now, anyone who's seen a Paranormal Activity movie or two knows that each new installment ends with the remaining heroes falling prey to the demonic entity they've spent the film being terrorised by.

But given that the series' sixth film, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, was marketed as the grand finale to the franchise, it was reasonable to assume that the new protagonists might actually find a way to fight back against the coven and destroy demon Tobi once and for all.

Uh, about that.

The Ghost Dimension instead ends with Tobi completing the ritual to be transformed into a physical being, killing young Leila's (Ivy George) parents and then disappearing into the night with her.

Basically, the villains end the main franchise with a 6-0 winning streak, Tobi finally accomplishing what he and his cult have been building towards all along. 

Unsurprisingly the ending didn't exactly leave most fans feeling satisfied, because after a point you really need to throw the audience a bone. This was definitely the time for Tobi to lose.
