10 More Horror Movies That Lied About Their Premise

4. Halloween Ends' Treatment Of Michael Vs. Laurie

Did Halloween Ends outright lie about its central premise? Technically not, but it certainly underdelivered of what was expected to be a battle for the ages between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode.

While we did indeed get one final showdown for these long-time rivals, that was reserved for the final 15 minutes of the movie, with Michael instead spending the vast majority of the film out of commission in a underground sewer tunnel. Instead, it's Corey Cunningham who gets to take the spotlight as the villainous focus of the final leg of David Gordon Green's Halloween trilogy.

Admittedly, Corey is an interesting character, and showcasing the downward spiral a tragic accident can have on a person and on a town was an interesting angle, but really, that wasn't what people were paying their money for when heading out to see Halloween Ends.

Rather, horror hounds were excited to see the explosive final battle between one of horror's greatest heroes and one of the genre's greatest antagonists. So, to not even have this duo interact until those final 15 minutes? Yeah, that left so many feeling short-changed and closed out this trilogy in a hugely frustrating, disappointing way.
