10 More Horror Movies With Seriously Messed Up Endings

6. Tusk

The Dark and the Wicked
A24

Kevin Smith's second foray into horror, Tusk sprung from a bizarre idea Smith and long-time collaborator Scott Mosier spitballed during an episode of their SModcast podcast.

When the picture made its way to screens in 2014, Smith showed he was more than capable of delivering a disturbing body horror feature that still had plenty familiar Kev trademarks throughout it.

Stuck in Manitoba, Canada, podcaster Wallace Bryton (Justin Long) finds himself in need of a story guaranteed to bring in the hits. Taking wheelchair-bound old seadog Howard Howe (Michael Parks) up on his offer of a free place to stay and tales guaranteed to capture the imagination, Wallace ends up paying the ultimate price for his curiosities.

With Howe regaling Wallace with stories of how a walrus, Mr. Tusk, saved his life when he was lost at sea, Long's character passes out after supping drugged tea. Once awake, Wallace has had his legs amputated, Howard no longer needs his wheelchair, and Parks' Howe details plans to turn Wallace into a human-walrus hybrid to make up for having actually eaten Mr. Tusk.

Tusk ends with Wallace killing Howard with his walrus tusk, then being placed in a zoo to live out his life like an animal.
