10 Most Exciting New Movies & TV Shows Just Announced (April 2021)
1. Why Didn't They Ask Evans?
There are few safer novels to adapt to screens both big and small than those of Agatha Christie, so it's not terribly surprising that another of her crime works is getting the glossy, expansive mini-series treatment.
Christie's 1934 detective novel "Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?," which focuses on the investigation into a dying man's titular words, has signed up Hugh Laurie to write, direct, and executive produce the three-part series for BritBox.
The series will be created by Mammoth Screen, the production company behind two prior acclaimed Christie TV adaptations, And Then There Were None and The ABC Murders.
Laurie isn't yet confirmed to star, though it's reportedly expected that he will indeed play a role in the series in addition to his other duties. The show is likely to debut sometime next year, and it can't come soon enough.
