10 Most Horrible James Bond Henchman Deaths

3. Gutsy Henchman (On Her Majesty's Secret Service, 1969)

Bond henchmen, for the sakes of their families, are hopefully well insured. In the event that they’ll encounter James Bond, which is especially likely if they’re employed by Ernst Stavro Blofeld, chances are they’ll swiftly meet their makers within a few seconds of appearing onscreen.

In the bombastic On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, many such of these loyal goons go to their graves atop the icy peaks of Piz Gloria, Ernst Stavro Blofeld’s mountain base. The worst of which occurs during a frenetic ski chase, with Blofeld and his crew in fast pursuit of James Bond and the fleet-footed Tracy.

One particularly unfortunate stooge pays for his inferior skiing ability by falling into the path of a snowblower train, screaming horribly as the blades chew him up and spit out his innards in a crimson geyser.

This doesn’t go unnoticed by 007, who turns to Tracy and quickly remarks that the goon “had lots of guts”. The two chortle away while the rest of Blofeld’s henchmen resume the chase with nary a respectful nod to their fallen comrade.

Will his remains ever be recovered, you wonder? Who was this man, and what led him on the path which ended as it did, in a squishy mess? Will anyone remember him as anything more than a punchline? Such is the sad life of a Bond henchman.
