10 Most Horrible James Bond Henchman Deaths

2. Dario (Licence To Kill, 1989)

A young Benicio Del Toro begs for death throughout Licence to Kill (yep, that film again) in his role as Franz Sanchez’s ruthless enforcer Dario, with his generally cocky demeanour and total lack of respect for 007.

His key role in the rape and murder of newlywed Della Leiter, however, had audiences demanding that his death be not just forthcoming, but brutal. Few men would deserve it more than the man who gleefully gave Della a “nice honeymoooooooooon”.

As ever, James Bond delivers.

After Bond’s identity is exposed during a tour through Sanchez’s cocaine processing plant towards the film’s conclusion, 007 finds himself in a tricky predicament. Strapped to a conveyor belt heading towards a nasty looking grinding machine, Bond is assured a most painful end.

Fortunately, Bond’s ally Pam Bouvier is on hand to distract Dario, allowing 007 to escape and get the drop on his foe. Before long, it’s Dario who gets a taste of the killing contraption, feet first. It’s an agonisingly slow process that follows as Dario is gradually crushed to bloody dust from toes upwards, and his harrowing screams reflect that.

Henchmen like him really grind one’s gears.
