10 Most Horrible James Bond Henchman Deaths
4. Ed Killifer (Licence To Kill, 1989)
This isn’t the first entry from the particularly gory Licence to Kill, and it won’t be the last with Timothy Dalton’s brutal 007 on the warpath throughout. Here it’s the unfortunate Ed Killifer who draws Bond’s ire.
The DEA agent chose the wrong time to take a $2 million bribe and help drug baron Franz Sanchez to escape custody… if only he’d known that James Bond was in the area.
The freed Sanchez, with the dirty Killifer’s assistance, goes on to take revenge against the CIA agent who’d put him in chains… Felix Leiter. The resulting bloody mess of Leiter, with his leg freshly chomped off by a shark and his wife raped and killed, understandably leaves Bond quite eager to find those responsible.
Killifer is the first on 007’s list, and he’s located in Milton Krest’s Ocean warehouse with a briefcase full of his hard-earned dough. After being knocked off balance by Bond’s accomplice (Sharkey!), Killifer is left dangling on a rope suspended above the same shark tank in which Leiter had lost a limb.
007 then firmly rejects Killifer’s offer to split the cash by tossing the suitcase at him, whose poorly chosen attempt to grab the suitcase ends with him falling into the shark tank and getting noisily devoured.
What a waste. Of money!
