With sizeable chunks of Edgar Wright's version of Ant-Man believed to take place in the 1960s, it now appears as if that will have been scaled back somewhat. However, it's been reported that a key flashback will feature Hank Pym meeting with Howard Stark (John Slattery), Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Armin Zola (Toby Jones), and perhaps, most surprisingly, a young Alexander Pierce during the early days of S.H.I.E.L.D. What this scene entails hasn't been revealed, but a prequel comic book confirmed that Pym knows Carter and that he went on missions for her in the Ant-Man suit during the Cold War. It's possible that they try to recruit him to S.H.I.E.L.D., but could the presence of undercover HYDRA agents Pierce and Zola hint at Pym being recruited to join that villainous organisation? We'll get to that later.
