3. Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry isn't just overrated, he's massively overpaid: last year, the American actor, director and entrepreneur was the highest paid person in the entertainment industry. And for what? A dozen bland films with "Tyler Perry's" put in front of the title? Here's a filmmaker with an absolutely
huge fanbase, although not a single person seems to realise that Perry has absolutely no respect for those who pay time and time again to head out and watch his movies. Time and time again, his work is pushed out with no concern for normal things like, oh, say, "quality," or "relevance." The most annoying and jarring thing about Perry's work, though, is the way that his projects pretend to have something serious to do with cultural issues, but end up sermonizing and using tired cliches. Most of his characters are damaging, stereotypical and - as a bonus - seemingly unaware of what the words "comedy" and "joke" mean. And don't get me started on Madea! If you're a Tyler Perry fan, (though why would you be?) you deserve better. Skip the next one. You've seen it before.
Trust me on that.
