Elizabeth Banks’ 2023 movie Cocaine Bear was a contender for this spot on the list, seeing as its villain is a rampaging bear that’s inhaled a bunch of the white stuff, but that would mean ignoring the endless stream of rip-offs it has inspired.

Since Cocaine Bear was announced, a bunch of other movies took the “animals on drugs” route in an attempt to capitalise on the buzz.

2023 saw the release of Cocaine Cougar, which was a shorter picture at just 50 minutes, and Cocaine Shark, which had a feature-length runtime. On the same day that Cocaine Bear was released, the movie Attack of the Methgator was announced, eventually to be released in 2024.

That one was produced by The Asylum, a studio that specialises in so-called “mockbusters” and previously brought the world such classics as Transmorphers and Snakes on a Train.

If you want more of this sort of thing, then there’s also Crackcoon, about a racoon on crack, and there’s also Cocaine Crabs from Outer Space, a no-budget horror that was actually released before the bear movie.
