10 Most Stunning Comic Book Movies Ever Made

7. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Edgar Wright proved he was no stranger to smart visual cues with his first two major features Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, but the English auteur's adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's best-selling graphic novel series about a mid-twenties Canadian slacker who must fight his new girlfriend's exes in order to date her absolutely pops off the screen with a minor-key, witty whip-smart invention.

Shot by The Matrix lenser Bill Pope, it's a veritable cornucopia of easter eggs, and Wright never lets his sleight-of-hand slow as he orchestrates the action with an eye for another smart sight gag, one after the other. Few comic-book adaptations are as funnily constructed as this one; it's rich with eye-popping vision as much as it is humour.
