10 Most Unintentionally Annoying Characters In Modern Film

5. Anakin Skywalker €“ Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Why You€™re Supposed to Like Him: The second appearance from Jake Lloyd in this list is certainly the more offending. In an attempt to humanise one of the most iconic movie villains in cinema history, Lucas cast Lloyd to play a young, idealistic Anakin Skywalker and we€™re supposed to suddenly have this epiphany about who Lord Vader once was. What€™s not to like? Why He€™s Annoying: Well, unfortunately, pretty much everything. This kid was in Jingle All The Way, and then Lucas decided AFTER that that he€™d make the perfect young Anakin Skywalker. Why is he annoying? Because, through him, Lucas single-handedly destroyed my childhood, letting each and every original Star Wars fan out there know that he doesn€™t give a flying f*ck about us, or his original legacy. Approaching the role as though Jingle All The Way€™s Jamie Langston lived on Tatooine (just replace the Turbo Man doll with Padme Amidala), Anakin might just be one of the most clumsily written, lazily directed and ill-performed characters ever presented in cinema. €œGive him a break, he was just a kid!€, you might say. I€™m not blaming him. I€™m blaming Lucas.
