10 Movie Actors Who Returned To Roles They Hated
1. Daniel Craig - No Time To Die
When the James Bond franchise was rebooted, it was Daniel Craig who was chosen to take on the role of 007 in Casino Royale. Two years later, he returned for the disappointing Quantum of Solace, only to follow that with the record-breaking, simply superb Skyfall. Unfortunately, things went wrong again with 2015's Spectre, so his run as Bond has definitely been hit-and-miss.
Clearly tired of playing Bond and the attention that comes with that, a 2015 interview saw Craig asked about potentially reprising the role of the iconic spy one more time.
Famously, he responded with, "Now? I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That's fine. I'm over it at the moment. We're done. All I want to do is move on." That generated a huge amount of backlash from fans, as it felt a lot like Craig was disrespecting both them and author Ian Fleming's iconic creation.
Something changed - money talks, right? - as Craig is back for one final appearance as James Bond in November's No Time to Die. He's clearly sick of playing the character, but was convinced to end his tenure in the highly anticipated Spectre follow-up.
