10 Movie Details That Aren’t As Important As You Think

4. Magneto Is Quicksilver's Dad - X-Men: Apocalypse

When Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were introduced to the MCU in Avengers: Age of Ultron, fans were all wondering how the writers were going to get around one specific detail.

In the comics, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff are both children of Magneto. However, as Marvel did not own the movie rights to the Magneto character at the time, their origins had to be rewritten.

This wasn't a problem for the 20th Century Fox X-Men films, who had full control over any mutant they wanted. This included Quicksilver, who was given the new name of Peter in the movies.

When Peter eventually crossed paths with his magnetic papa in X-Men: Apocalypse, it is teased that the speedster is going to reveal the truth. But this never happens.

Furthermore, it doesn't come up in the next X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix, which begs the question - why introduce it at all?

Quicksilver as Magneto's son could have been a fantastic direction in which to take the series, but, for whatever reason, that detail was just swept under the rug.

However, with the Fox X-Men series in the can and Disney now in control of the characters, maybe we'll finally get a resolution to this? Please?
