10 Movie Poster Clichés We're All Tired Of

6. Reflective Sunglasses

GlassesUsed For: Films of all genres This poster has been around for a long time and wasn't something I really noticed until doing research for this post. Now I see it everywhere. It's the familiar image of our main character wearing sunglasses (implying coolness?) with images reflected either implying danger (such as Doc Ock in Spidey's eyes) or hinting at story elements (such as the rug from the Big Lebowski). For some movies, the poster works rather well, and for others... not so much. It's a quick way of showing who your main actor is, but also giving a small glimpse of what's in store for their character.
