Yes, the surprisingly successful 2018 reboot of the Halloween franchise has a sequel set to be released on October 16.

Interestingly enough, the passion project of funnyman Danny McBride got the greenlight for not only one, but two sequels, to be filmed and released back-to-back. Which must mean that there must be plenty of legs behind the story of the iconic horror-franchises next two outings.

Franchise stars Jamie Lee Curtis, and Nick Castle, are both returning as their respective characters of Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, as well as a host of other characters from follow-ups to the original 1978 slasher masterpiece.

It will be interesting to see just how far down the same road of the original sequels the filmmakers choose to go with the next two instalments. But if anything is to be expected from the previous outing, it is likely that there will be more than a few updates to the continuity to keep things feeling a little bit fresher for both fans and newcomers to the franchise.
