10 Movie Sequels You Have No Idea Were Just Released

1. Sniper: Rogue Mission

1993's action film Sniper starred Tom Berenger and Billy Zane as a pair of snipers on assignment in Panama, and despite scoring mostly negative reviews, its modest box office succeed led to a bevy of sequels made for TV and home video.

Curiously, either Berenger or Zane appeared in each of the first seven sequels, which despite being ignored by most critics apparently continued to sell well enough within their niche.

But this past summer the ninth film, Sniper: Rogue Mission, was released, and was the first to feature neither Berenger nor Zane, instead passing the baton to Chad Michael Collins, who has appeared in the latter half of the series as the son of Berenger's Sergeant Tom Beckett.

Though the longevity of the Sniper series has been a running joke among film fans for a long time - who among us hasn't seen DVDs of Sniper 3 kicking around in a bargain bin? - most surely stopped thinking about the series a long, long time ago.

And yet, a 1993 movie that grossed $19 million at the box office just released its eighth sequel, with production having already started on a tenth film. That's weirdly impressive.
