9. Everybody Wants Some
Release Date: April 15, 2016 Described by its director, Boyhood's Richard Linklater, as a "spiritual sequel" to his masterpiece Dazed And Confused, Everybody Wants Some - which recently had its title changed from "That's What I'm Talking About" - could very well turn out to be another gem. Set in the '80s, the film concerns college freshmen who are also baseball players. Linklater has produced some of the best and most unique films of recent times, and following on from his successes with Before Midnight and Boyhood, this looks to have real potential. As a sports comedy-drama, Everybody Wants Some appears to be positioned as something of a "hangout movie" in the Dazed and Confused vein. Starring a cast of relative unknowns (who are sure to be put on the map), this is one of those films that it feels right to have a good feeling about. Linklater wrote and directed, after all, assuring it as a passion project. Don't be surprised when this thing creeps up out of nowhere with a 100% score, then.
