10 Movies From The 2000s Already Being Remade

3. Memento

This one gets a little confusing (which is rather poetic), but there is something of a Memento remake on its way.

The 2000 Christopher Nolan classic is set for a second outing on the big screen, though "remake" is a word used tentatively by the film's team.

Little movement has been made on this project since its initial announcement in 2015, but in 2018 AMBI Pictures, the company that holds the intellectual rights to the property, insisted it was still on the slate.

Producer Andrea Iervolino stated that, “It is very private. It is not really a remake. But is something similar.” Monica Bacardi of AMBI claimed it would "stay true to Christopher Nolan's vision and deliver a memorable movie."

Sounds awfully like a remake that doesn't know what it wants to be or when it's going to come to fruition, but the possibility of this Memento not-remake is apparently still firmly on the cards. Could be a disaster, but could also never actually happen. Time will tell.

Chances are I’m watching a movie or replaying Mass Effect rather than doing anything productive.
