10 Movies Kickstarted By Utter STUPIDITY
1. Ignoring Every Single Red Flag - Creep (2014)
And finally we have the found footage film Creep, which is admittedly wholly concerned with how a combination of economic anxiety and a deep desire not to be rude cause the death of videographer protagonist Aaron (Patrick Brice).
Even so, Aaron ignores an unforgiveable laundry list of red flags when it comes to taking a job for eccentric client Josef (Mark Duplass).
As if meeting him at a remote cabin and seemingly not telling anyone where he's going isn't bad enough, he continually entertains Josef's increasingly alarming, indeed creepy behaviour, out of desperation to keep the job.
Granted, Aaron is depicted as overpoweringly naive from the start of the film to the grim end, where he again agrees to meet up with Josef, who promptly murders him with an axe.
Most street-smart, world-weary people would absolutely let someone else know where they were going and, more to the point, nope the hell out of there once Josef started acting off.
Ironically though, Aaron's misguided belief that Josef was ultimately harmless is what leads Josef to consider him his favourite victim in the final scene.
