10 Movies Kickstarted By Utter STUPIDITY
2. Not Just Making Another Email Account - Eurotrip
It's a testament to how absurdly entertaining EuroTrip is that it's still so much fun despite featuring one of the flimsiest setups in the history of the sex comedy - or really any movie set in the quasi-modern world.
Teenager Scotty (Scott Mechlowicz) decides to set off on a road trip to Berlin after realising that his German pen pal Mieke, who he believed to be a man, is actually an incredibly attractive woman (Jessica Boehrs).
Y'see, the previous night a drunken Scott was coaxed into believing that Mieke was a male sexual predator, and so sent "him" an email telling him to leave him alone.
Yet upon realising the truth the next morning, Scott finds that Mieke has blocked his email account, apparently making it impossible for him to contact her, prompting him to visit Europe to track her down.
Except, uh, why not just make another email account and contact her that way?
Scott could just explain the previous message was written by his idiot kid brother and he would've saved himself a whole ton of time, effort, and money solving the problem.
Granted, Scott's absurd oversight did result in one hell of a crazy adventure across Europe, culminating in him actually getting together with Mieke, so he probably considers it worth it.
