10 Movies Ruined By Their Title
1. It Comes at Night
2017's psychological horror film It Comes at Night was a modest box office success but has consistently received poor audience scores, in large part because its title is blatantly misleading.
The title very clearly implies some sort of monster or entity which the central characters will face off against, and yet, this isn't the reality of the story at all.
There's no monster of any kind to be found in It Comes at Night, which is really more of a horror-tinged dramatic thriller about intense paranoia in a post-apocalyptic setting.
The title is metaphorical, effectively, which didn't exactly wash with the great many who went in expecting creatures or zombies instead.
As well-made and compellingly acted as the film is, you can't really blame folk for being mad that the title promised something that the film evidently had no interest in delivering.
It's an awesome title for a totally different movie, but A24 probably regrets nothing given that the film grossed $20 million theatrically against a $5 million budget.
