10 Movies That Could Still Save The Box Office In 2020
3. Mulan
Disney's production line that continues to churn out live-action remakes of their animated classics has been a license to print money, and after making some alterations to the 1998 original in order to appeal to the notoriously-strict Chinese censorship board, Mulan looks set to dominate the box office on both sides of the Pacific.
The animated version might not be held in the same kind of high regard as an Aladdin or a Lion King, but there's enough people that hold Mulan close to their hearts to guarantee the success of Nikki Caro's adaptation, as well as the sheer omnipotence of the Disney brand itself.
The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King all hoovered up between $966m and $1.65bn globally, and with Mulan set to appeal more directly to Chinese audiences than the others, expect it to bring in a hefty amount of cash when it finally hits theaters at the end of next month.
