8. Hulk Hogan Biopic

In 2019, it was announced that a Hulk Hogan biopic was in the works, with Chris Hemsworth set to portray the wrestling icon, while Joker duo Todd Phillips and Scott Silver would serve as director and writer on the project.

By 2020, Hemsworth spoke about the intense physical prep he'd be undergoing to play the Hulkster, gaining more mass than he'd ever gained for a role before, but in a recent interview with Variety to promote Joker: Folie à Deux, Phillips confirmed the biopic was now canned.

Phillips said, "I love what we were trying to do, but that’s not going to come together for me".

Quite what that means is up for debate, but Hogan himself suggested that the initial deal with Netflix fell through because the streamer missed an agreed payment to him.

Whether a business or creative issue - or a combination of the two - the project has seemingly been completely canned.
