5. Talladega Nights Was Edited In Iran To Hide Nudity

Adam McKay's NASCAR-based 2006 film, following the life of fictional driver Will Ferrell's Ricky Bobby and his long-running rivalry with Sacha Baron Cohen's Jean Girard, still stands as one of the best (and only) motorsports comedies ever produced.

The film is also widely remembered for sparking the comedic partnership between Ferrell and co-star John C. Reilly, who would later reunite in 2008's Step Brothers.

As you would expect from a McKay-Ferrell comedy, the film contains numerous gross-out moments and a plenty of slapstick comedy. However, their brand of comedy failed to appeal to Iranian censors who failed to see the funny side of their work.

In one particular scene, involving Ferrell running shirtless across the track and the film was re-edited to clumsily extend the track-side barrier across the screen to preserve his modesty.

Although this is a relatively small change, it is still an amusing look at the hilariously low-tech efforts used to make Hollywood films a little more 'appropriate' for Iranian audiences.
