10 Movies With INSANE Casts You've Never Heard Of

9. Triple 9

Triple 9 was a decent meat-and-potatoes heist thriller released in 2016, the sort of journeyman genre effort which would almost certainly forego a theatrical bow entirely today in favour of a streaming drop. But the script, which was included on the 2010 Hollywood Black List of most-liked unproduced screenplays, ended up attracting a mind-boggling bevy of talent.

The film's ensemble cast counts among its roster - take a big breath - Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Aaron Paul, Clifton Collins Jr., Norman Reedus, Teresa Palmer, Michael K. Williams, Gal Gadot, Woody Harrelson, and Kate Winslet.

That's an ensemble that includes two Oscar winners (Affleck and Winslet) and two Oscar nominees (Ejiofor and Harrelson), and yet, Triple 9 both flopped at the box office and received wildly mixed reviews from critics.

For many, there seemed to be incredulity that such a basic assembly thriller attracted such a stupendous cast, making it clear that director John Hillcoat failed to make the most of the film's fawned-over script.
