2024 saw the long-awaited return of Aardman's flagship duo, the beloved Wallace and Gromit. Exactly how long-awaited was Vengeance Most Fowl? Well, though there have been appearances on other platforms in between, last year saw their first major motion picture for almost two full decades.

19 years earlier came the equally joyous Curse of the Were-rabbit. Here, Wallace and Gromit had to save their village vegetable competition from a beast who devoured all things green with no discrimination, that just so turned out to be Wallace himself after an experiment with rabbit's brainwaves went wrong.

While Vengeance Most Fowl boasted the return of Feathers McGraw, as well as a truly tear-jerking story and payoff between the two best pals, The Curse of the Were-rabbit was no less delightful. The likes of Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter certainly helped, but this writer doesn't think it would be possible for Aardman to produce anything with Wallace and Gromit and not knock it out of the park.

It's insane to think that there was less time between the pair's debut in A Grand Day Out in 1989 and The Curse of the Were-rabbit (16 years), than the 19 years between The Curse of the Were-rabbit and Vengeance Most Fowl. Here's hoping there's not another 20 to wait for the next.
