10 Outrageous Claims Made By Movies (That Were Total Lies)

3. Glass Is Not That Dangerous

Fight Club Another trope that action movies intentionally get wrong for the sake of looking cool is the damaging properties of glass. In a movie, characters can be thrown through glass and get up like it's not really a big deal; it's just another surface they've smashed into pieces with their body, right? Wrong; in reality the chance of cutting yourself to pieces is extremely likely, as is the tendency for you to slice a vital artery and just bleed to death right there and then. Then there's glass bottles; in movies characters will be freely bottle each other just to get to know one another, when in reality, bottling someone is going to get you brought up on serious charges, because it's a very dangerous thing to do. The sugar-glass bottles in movies freely disperse when smashed, yet real glass bottles have a greater ability to stick into things like flesh, and like your skull, and I suppose even your brain. Believe me, bar fights in real life aren't anywhere near as fun.
