10 Problems With Batman V Superman Nobody Wants To Admit

9. The Cast Is Weird

Man Of Steel had a surprisingly A-list cast €“ Henry Cavill as the eponymous hero was a relatively new face, but he was surrounded by Russell Crowe as his dad, Laurence Fishburne as Daily Planet editor Perry White, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and go-to-psycho Michael Shannon as General Zod. Cavill ended up being perfect casting as Superman, too. Otherwise, though? The additions to Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice's line up are sort of...odd. Opinion remains split on Ben Affleck as the new Dark Knight, his jawline peppered with grey hairs suggesting a Caped Crusader a few years into his superhero career. Affleck is kind of a peculiar choice €“ his career second wind looked like it was set to be behind the camera. He's ended up back in front with Argo and Gone Girl, but he seems a few years on from superhero stardom. Plus he already had his shot with the thoroughly average Daredevil. Factor is Jesse Eisenberg as the pantomime villain Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons subbing in for Michael Caine as Alfred and that's a really odd bunch for a blockbuster. Will they actually gel, or be a waste of miscast talent?
