10 Reasons Why Batman Fans Are Always Wrong About Everything

5. Batman Doesn't Need Help

Batman Robin Damian Death 600x302

This one is generally spoken by fans of the Nolan franchise and why Batman doesn't need a Robin. However, Batman has a lot of help in this franchise. Alfred prepares his gear, stitches him up, creates alibis et cetera. Lucius Fox designs all of his major equipment, including the Tumbler, Bat-Pod, The Bat and more. Commissioner Gordon provides intelligence, as well as helps divert the Gotham City Police Department, if necessary. In the comics, Oracle (formerly Batgirl) was Batman's main source of intelligence, using her computer hacking abilities to provide mapping, background information and other necessary secrets. Batman has had five Robins aid him, each of which has bailed Batman out of more than enough jams (including the previously mentioned Batman: The Cult), and Nightwing (the first Robin now grown up) continues to do so, even taking on the mantle of Batman when necessary. And then there are other Gotham allies like Catwoman, Huntress, Batwoman and Question, and globally the Batman Incorporated allies like Batwing and Knight and Squire. Even Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns proves that Robin is an essential part of Batman's legacy. Oh, and let's not forget Superman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League. Perhaps no one has better argued that Batman requires an a Robin than former Robin Tim Drake (now Red Robin). A young detective, Tim Drake is able to deduce that Bruce Wayne is Batman and Dick Grayson was Robin (Grayson had moved on to become Nightwing), Drake tried to get the Dynamic Duo to again partner after Jason Todd's death (the second Robin). While there was resistance between the superheroes to agree to partner, Batman was impressed with Drake's skills and took him under his mantle to become the third Robin. Finally, there's the Knightfall story arc where Batman has his back broken by Bane (the obvious source material used in The Dark Knight Rises) and Jean Paul Valley takes on the mantle of the Bat, and other allies such as Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman have to step up to fill in his shoes while Bruce underwent a miraculous healing process.
