10 Reasons Blair Witch Is A Crushing Disappointment

1. It's A Total Waste Of Adam Wingard's Talent

Adam Wingard has proven himself one of the most intriguing horror-thriller directors working today, what with his terrific two prior movies You're Next and The Guest.

What a huge comedown Blair Witch is from those works, then, clinging desperately to an established formula and reeking of studio mandate throughout.

Wingard was honest enough to admit in interviews that a big motivation behind making the film was because The Guest didn't do much business at the box office, and seeing the end result, that's none-too-surprising.

Hopefully he'll bounce back with his upcoming big-budget Death Note adaptation, because a filmmaker of his talent shouldn't be bothering himself with cynical "rebootquels" like this.
