10 Reasons We've Already Given Up On The Amazing Spider-Man 2
10. What Is The Green Goblin Wearing?
Yes, most of us are well aware that the Green Goblin looked like a poorly costumed Power Rangers villain in the original Sam Raimi Spider-Man film, but The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has gone ahead and made a bad thing worse in its most recent Green Goblin reveal. This new Green Goblin resembles a cross between Beetlejuice and a Breaking Bad tweeker. Theres nothing about this character design that is even remotely congruous with the villains look in the comic books. Theres nary a reference to the green and purple clad, pumpkin-bomb throwing bad guy from the mainstream, 616-version, nor does he resemble the literal monster the character became in the Ultimate universe. Sadly, the Goblin's ridiculous new look is distracting, and if his characterization is as poorly thought-out as his costume, comic book fans are going to be very disappointed. The Green Goblin is supposed to be Spider-Mans arch-nemesis. He has played a central role in nearly every major misfortune that has befallen Peter Parker/Spider-Man over the years. The villains somewhat disarming, court jester-gone-mad look as featured in the comics for the past 50 years is meant to be incredibly unsettling. Instead, The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Green Goblin looks like he needs a toothbrush and a shower.
