10 Recent Movie Shots You Didn't Know Were Accomplished With CGI
10. The Quantum Suits - Avengers: Endgame
It's not surprising to anyone that the $356 million Avengers: Endgame featured a ton of CGI, with most of it not being in any way subtle. But there's one aspect of the film's CGI-soaked aesthetic that surely sneaked its way past audiences.
When the Avengers prepare to execute their Time Heist, they don distinctive white costumes - better known as "Quantum Suits" - to safely travel through time, and incredibly, the suits were 100% digital in every single shot in the movie.
Despite how startlingly lifelike the suits look, reflecting light in mind-bogglingly natural ways and showing few of the dead giveaways of CGI fabric, no practical versions of the suits exist at all, with the cast instead wearing their typical Avengers costumes fitted with tracking markers.
Incredibly, the suits hadn't even had their designs finalised by the time Endgame started shooting, yet the end result is so shockingly photoreal that most would easily assume they were practical suits. Except for any shots where they materialise or de-materialise around an actor's body, of course.
Of all the many brilliant effects in Endgame, this honestly might be the most impressive.
