Venom: Let There Be Carnage's teaser is one of the few films with a stinger better than the movie itself.

While Eddie Brock and his symbiote are on vacation, he finds himself transported to a parallel universe. Upon looking at the television, he sees a news announcement revealing Spider-Man's identity as Peter Parker.

Not only does this scene prove Tom Hardy's Venom is now a resident of the MCU, it looks like he will be battling the wallcrawler in the near future.

But only one month later, Spider-Man: No Way Home was released, which directly contradicted this setup. In NWH's post-credits scene, Eddie's teleported back to his world almost immediately, having never crossed paths with the Web-Head.

Before he disappears, a glob of his symbiote remains, suggesting it will fuse with someone else, turning them into the MCU's Venom. Because several people have become Venom, it's unknown whether the MCU's version will be Eddie Brock or another character.

One thing we do know is that this Venom will not be Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock, though that's what was heavily implied in Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
