9. Jemma Simmons & Leo Fitz

Jemma Simmons and Leopold "Leo" Fitz (collectively known as "FitzSimmons") are a pair of S.H.I.E.L.D. protégés who were recruited to Phil Coulson's small and elite team. Simmons is a bio-chemist and Fitz is an engineer and both are geniuses in their respective fields. While they were quite shy and retiring at first - particularly when it came to dangerous situations - they soon repaid Coulson's trust in them by becoming key members of the team and hardened S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who were ready for anything. For much of the series so far, they have been presented as very good friends - perhaps with a close brother/sister type relationship going on - however, in the finale of the first season, when he thinks he's dying, Fitz all but professes his love for Simmons and, given that he is still alive at the climax of that episode, it would be great to see the long-time friends become lovers. Next season, maybe?
