In this sci-fi thriller, six astronauts are working on the International Space Station when they discover an alien cell on a probe, which is dubbed "Calvin".

But as Calvin mutates at astronomical speed, it becomes hostile and starts picking off crew members one by one. The survivors realise that if the alien keeps evolving, it will become unstoppable if it reaches Earth. As the astronauts start running out of options, one crewmember, Jordan, lures the creature into his escape pod. He orders his teammate, North, to crash her pod into his to hurl it into space, while knocking her vessel into Earth's atmosphere.

After North does this, we see a pod crash-land into a lake, where it is discovered by a group of fishermen. Only when they look through the pod's window do we realise something is terribly wrong. The pod contains Calvin and Jordan, meaning that North sent HERSELF into space by accident. Even though Jordan begs the fishermen not to come near him, they open the hatch, dooming all of mankind.

Probably the most haunting moment is when we see North helplessly screaming in her escape pod, knowing her mistake will result in the end of humanity.
