7. Thanos Is Star Lord's Uncle - Guardians Of The Galaxy 2

Um, yes. So here's a genuinely shocking theory that - on the surface - sounds totally and utterly ridiculous, and yet... the more you think about it, the more weight it has. That doesn't mean it's going to happen, of course; just that, you know, it's not impossible that James Gunn and Marvel opted to go down this route when writing this movie. This theory, then (and one that several fans are adamant will reveal itself to be true within the frames of the upcoming sequel to Guardians Of The Galaxy), purports that Thanos - the intergalactic blue alien supervillain who has been feverishly attempting to capture all the Infinity Stones over the span of countless movies - is actually related to Guardian Of The Galaxy's sardonic team leader Peter Quill (AKA Star Lord). Whilst some believe that Thanos will turn out to be Star Lord's actual father (you know, given that audiences know that he's a mysterious, powerful alien dude), there seems to be more evidence that he's actually his uncle. How so? Basically, there's a rumour that a superhero called Eros (or Starfox) will turn out to be Peter Quill's father in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. And in the comics... well, Thanos just so happened to be Eros' brother. Thus, the upcoming Infinity War could very well wind up being a family affair of sorts.
