10 Star Wars Legends Characters We Desperately Want To Return

Sith Warrior turned Jedi Master, Mara Jade was one of the most important characters introduced after the end of Return of the Jedi in Legends. Originally, she served Darth Sidious as one of the Emperor’s Hands, and was instructed to kill Luke Skywalker at any cost. However, after the collapse of the Empire, she became a Smuggler who at times worked with Luke.

Their continued missions together eventually helped the pair bond, and Mara Jade eventually married Luke Skywalker and trained with him as a Jedi. The pair even had a son together named Ben Skywalker. Mara Jade also took on both Jaina Solo and Anakin Solo as her Jedi Padawans, becoming very close with the Solo family. Tragically, she met her end at the hands of her nephew, Jacen Solo - who had fallen to the Dark Side and become Darth Caedus.

While in the new canon it is assumed that Luke Skywalker did not have a wife or any children, Mara Jade could still be introduced without these elements of her character. She was one of the most popular characters introduced in this time period, and would be a great addition to canon in some capacity. Having Mara Jade as another Force User out in the Star Wars Universe along with characters like Rey and Grogu would certainly draw in more fans of the original Legends continuity.
