Last Film Entry: Scream VI (2023)

What's Going On? Oh boy, talk about chaos...

Originally, the working plan was for Scream 7 to hit the silver screen towards the end of 2024. Right now though, that seems absolutely impossible.

Scream 7 was to pick things up with the survivors of last year's Scream VI, with a large part of the focus presumably to be on modern franchise leads Sam (Melissa Barrera) and Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega) as they and their pals once again find themselves going up against a Ghostface or two. Or three. Or maybe even four this time.

As it stands, Melissa Barrera was fired late last year, with Jenna Ortega walking away from the project shortly after that. Added to that, director Christopher Landon left the film - which he described as "a dream job that turned into a nightmare" - at the end of 2023 as script overhauls are now underway. And while all of that is going on, Spyglass are once again said to be low-balling Neve Campbell as they look to bring her Sidney Prescott back into the fold.
