10 Stupid Movie Villain Plans That Make NO Sense
4. Emma Russell - Godzilla: King Of The Monsters
Godzilla: King of the Monsters begins with an eco-terrorist, Alan Jonah, infiltrating a lab containing the Titan, Mothra. Not only does Alan steal the giant larva, he kidnaps the lab's biologist, Emma Russell, and her daughter.
As Alan orders Emma to use her technology to unleash the Titans on the world, one would assume she's doing what she must to survive. But it's later revealed that Emma is helping Alan voluntarily because she wants the Titans to reclaim the surface world. When she contacts her company, Monarch, she explains how the kaiju must be free to heal the planet.
But after she sees a three-headed dragon incinerate a city and a pterosaur obliterate a town with a single flap of its wings, Emma starts to think, "Wait a minute... Monsters are bad!"
Of course, Emma should've known introducing Titans into society would have calamitous consequences if she remembered the events that occurred in the previous movie. In that film, Godzilla caused incalculable destruction to multiple cities. The two MUTOs nearly activated a bunch of nuclear warheads, which could've killed millions. After witnessing that, why did Emma believe awakening more of these creatures would help the world?
